From its inception, Zonbu has been a pioneer in next generation computing. Our products are some of the most environmentally friendly available, requiring far less power than most computers. In addition, our Zonbu Plus service has provided our customers with completely transparent data backups and online access, taking cloud computing to the next level. With our innovative architecture, we have provided 100% storage uptime for the past 18 months and have reached a 99.99% file recovery level.
As a young company, we have found ourselves susceptible to the recent economic downturn. We had to reorganize ourselves, and it became difficult to put the finishing touches on the 2008 beta version, and turn into an official OS update, which was originally scheduled for the fourth quarter of 2008.
We realize that this has been a disappointment to some of our customers. We also realize that many of our customers are themselves being forced to cut back because of the economy. Therefore:
* We are cutting the monthly fee for all of our subscription plans to $9.95 per month, retroactive as of 1/15/2009.
* We are also waiving all cancellations fees for the Zonbu service. Although we hate to see them leave, any customer, regardless of whatever commitment they may have, may cancel without a penalty.
If you're deciding whether or not to stay with Zonbu, don't worry, we're not going anywhere. We are committed to continuing to provide OS maintenance as well as top-notch technical support for our existing customers. We are working on an OS update to be released in March that will include Firefox 3 and OpenOffice.org 3.0, as well as many other features. Any customer experiencing difficulties should contact our Help Desk. Thank you for choosing Zonbu.

We have released 2008.05, which is the next generation of Zonbu. In beta ;-) This version works on 'any PC' and incorporates an innovative webOS for remote access. This version is not pushed to the current customers due to its early status. We expect to release it within a couple of months.

We have just announced the update to version 7.1008 to everybody, which is our version 1.0. We want to thank all our current customers for their support. Their feed-back has been very precious to achieve the release of our first product.

Yesterday night, we have pushed the update to version 6.999 to everybody. This release brings performance improvements of the online storage, a full rewrite of the network configuration handling, and miscellaneous bugfixes. A list of all changes can be found here.

A new official build is on its way. And it's looking very good! The new image is scheduled to be pushed next week. We have fixed all the blocking bugs you have reported to us, especially one of the most painful problems: the back USB ports which were not working properly. We have also added full support for the iPod - all generations - including video support. This build will be the LAST beta build. Thanks for your support and stay tuned!

On October 10th, Zonbu was honored as one of the Top 10 Most Brilliant Gadgets of 2007 by Popular Mechanics magazine.
On September 24th, Wall Street Journal announced that Zonbu is the runner-up in the Computing Systems category of WSJ 2007 Technology Innovation Award.
Finally, Zonbu was reviewed by Dan Lyons, best known as Fake Steve Jobes, in Forbes Magazine.

For a few days, we have tested a new image with a few selected customers. We think that this new version brings substantial improvements and fixes. We will then push it to all the customers during this coming Sunday night. You don't have to do anything, the update process is automatic.

After receiving requests from early customers for a better online documentation, we have added several articles and rewritten many pages. You can find information on any subject with the integrated search engine. Since we're now using a wiki, we will be more responsive and keep the information up to date easily. Our development team is focusing its efforts on fixing bugs and upgrading software for our production version. Release 5.803 will probably be the last beta version. Thanks to the reports from our users, we have been able to improve the Zonbu experience significantly. If you are interested in getting the production version early by participating in our testing program, contact us.

After some technical problems on our updater mechanism, we are now able to push the latest version of Zonbu to all the devices. Your Zonbu should automatically update itself within 24 hours. Leave it turned on to get the upgrade as soon as possible.
