The public folder allows you to share files on your Zonbu with the rest of the world. All you need to do is place a file or folder in the Public folder on your desktop. Then, anyone that accesses your Public Remote Access will be able to download the file to your computer. Possible uses include sharing important documents, pictures, music, and more.
Before other people can access your public folder over the Internet, you must define your Public Zonbu Name. To do so, go to your Public Settings. Once set, your public folder can be accessed from any web browser by going to http://your-public-name-here.my.zonbu.com/, where your-public-name-here is your public name.
Then, on your Zonbu, press Alt-F2 and run the command zonbu_public. Enter your public name in the dialog box that appears and validate.
There is a folder called Public on the Desktop of your Zonbu. You can use it to upload un-encrypted files to the Remote Storage, and make them available online. Simply copy a file to it like you would any other folder.
In versions 7.1008 and earlier, after running zonbu_public, you must log out and log-in again to see the Public Folder on your Desktop.
