Error when trying to run GCC

Postby bidi on Sat Mar 22, 2008 1:53 pm

I'm trying to run "gcc" but I keep getting this error:
Code: Select all
gcc-config error: Could not run/locate "gcc"

I then run "gcc-config" and the help is displayed. If I run "gcc-config --get-bin-path" the returned path doesn't exist. The funny thing about all this is that /usr/bin/gcc does exist. Trying to do anything else but show paths with gcc-config require root access, which I don't have.

I just want to compile some code I play around with every once in a while.

I'm using the "opensource" version of Zonbu. And I'm not willing to just to the "developer" version since I'm not sure it would be the correct thing to do since I don't need/want access to "root", I just want to be able to compile simple code so I can play around.

Thanks
bidi

To use gcc you need the developer edition.
