The Zonbu Desktop Mini was the first EPEAT Gold certified consumer desktop. EPEAT evaluates and compares products based on stringent environmental criteria such as reduction/elimination of environmentally sensitive materials, design for end of life, energy conservation, corporate performance or packaging. All Zonbu products are certified for compliance with ENERGY STAR 4, RoHS standards (Reduction of Hazardous Substances), and Zonbu provides a free take-back and advanced recycling program.

At just over two pounds, Zonbu device consumes at least four times fewer chemicals and fossil fuels during manufacturing than conventional desktop PCs. Moreover, the Zonbu manufacturing process complies with the high standards of the European RoHS Directive. This restricts hazardous substances in electronic equipment, including cadmium, mercury, lead, hexavalent chromium and certain brominated flame retardants.

We provide a free take-back program to recycle your used Zonbu device responsibly. E-waste is fast becoming a global health hazard — worldwide, it's between 20 and 50 million tons of e-waste that is dumped in landfills and incinerators every year. We are determined that no Zonbu device contributes to the problem. When you upgrade to a new Zonbu device or you're finished using your current one, simply return it to us and we'll foot the bill for dismantling and recycling all the components. Send it in your original packaging, and we'll recycle that too. All components of our packaging are earth friendly.

Zonbu's ultra low power design combined with carbon offsets makes it a zero-emission computer. The Zonbu device consumes only about one third of the energy used by a typical light bulb — and yet it has plenty of power for all your bright ideas. By using Zonbu rather than a conventional desktop PC, you reduce your carbon dioxide emissions by almost a ton every year!
